Only the one card will be new, but you can get a replacement anyway :)

Is it really only this card or do you have the same issues like DaviddesJ mentioned and it just doesn´t bother you:

You can tell some of the tokens from others from the back. You can tell some of the cards from others, even in sleeves. You can tell some of the tiles from others. It's ok for these things not to bother you, but it seems to me you're not even noticing the flaws.

I wonder if this is the case with all prints or just some of them? I can live with a bad quality, but I try to avoid it if possible.

Maybe somebody have asked this question, but I didn't find.
The Witch bewitched The Priest. Can the Warlord destroy cities of the priest or cities of Witch or both?

Typically, some of the problems in past printings are fixed in new printings, but other new problems appear. In many different printings, over 10 years, the quality control (or lack thereof) has been rather consistent. Expecting quality to improve is just not realistic imho. It's just as likely to get worse.

I received my pledge yesterday and can't wait to try this both, in solo and against a friend I played already a fiar amount of games with the Seraphia vs. Styxia box I received with my Lords of Hellas.

But as I went through all those (really beautiful!) cards I wondered if it is correct that only Goblins and Wild Fairies have Boss cards and the other three don't.

Just want to add my take on Jonathan's truly perverse attitude towards resignation. Most people have already said what I'd want to say: that shaming other players into not doing something explicitly allowed in the rules is shocking behaviour and that disallowing resignation warps the incentive structure of the game in favour of military blowouts.

But there's another dimension to this. TtA can be a 3 hour plus game of taxing mental gymnastics. Some players have limited capacity for such prolonged mental exertion but so long as they are enjoying the game, they may stick it out. But what happens if that enjoyment evaporates, perhaps when they realise there is no hope of winning and they have become the table's military punching bag? Well, then you are forcing them to do something which may be causing them distress, from which they derive no pleasure, with the threat of future exclusion if they don't grin and bear it.

Disallowing resignation doesn't just make you a jerk, it makes you ableist.

More long games should follow TtA's lead and write resignation into their rules structure.

The one thing I agree with Jonathan on is that there are all sorts of valid reasons for choosing not to play games with certain people. For instance, I'd never want to play any game with an ableist jerk.

I believe it is all print runs, but like cityofsolitude I have (clear) sleeved my cards and never closely examined minor differences between tokens and cards, so they have never bothered me. YMMV.

Please do not use rape as shorthand for "beaten in a game". It causes sexual assault victims real pain to see this term used in such a cavalier fashion.

Given that player A occupies a space with only a regular survivor and nothing else. And player B has only 1 command token in that space.

Which of the following is correct:
1) Player A controls the space because he is the only one occupying it.
2) No one is controlling the space because A occupies it but another player has more Battle strength there and B does not occupy the space, thus he cannot control it since control requires occupation.

So essentially the question is. Can I use my command tokens just to prevent an enemy from controlling a space even though I do not occupy in any way the space.

If there's a bigger box stretch goal, I'd like there to be a bigger shelf stretch goal as well. My current box holds all the stuff I have (in an orderly way), with room to add the Turmoil expansion. And it fits in my Kallax chest.

If there were a bigger box, I would need a bigger Kallax as well. So please provide a stretch goal that covers that.

A regular action is defined as an action that forces you to pay sandtimers and coins as required and do what is defined. It does not matter if the action is triggered by action token,Home town or card function.

The rules just make clear that you only can modify an action that you have triggered on a „regular“ basis. Otherwise people might have thought that the +1 education bonus or the Price adjustment option allows you to do the action without taking an action tile or use a home town or card ability.

You can stack boni. If you have two according home towns and an according card each for +1 education you may take 4 new population from the right end of the philosopher row for 4 coins (even 5 from the left end).

Got another game in vs. the Automata today!

I used the Seer with the designated starter hand, and drafted the remaining 5 cards using my solo draft variant. I drew the Sea Serpent early which prompted me to want try a dragon strategy vs. the Automata and I proceeded to try to secure some synergizing resource collection items as well as the Burning Chalice to be able to attack multiple times in a turn.

The early game saw me working towards getting the dragon out, digging for it with the Seer power and trying to get the resources needed to play it. I had my sights on the Dragon's Lair as well as a potential win condition. The Automata brute forced his way to 6 VPs quickly with the Great Pyramid being one of the starter Monuments that netted him 3 VPs right of the bat basically. Ugh!

I finally got my dragon out as well as the Burning Chalice, and the proceeding mid game saw me desperately try to control the board of the Automata by eating his resources and slowly blowing his automated artifacts up one by one to negate it's gold income. The Automata is relentless, however, and slowly but surely kept claiming Monuments but I had at least stopped it from completely mowing me over.

I went for the Dragon's Lair as planned and started hoarding gold on it with my Sea Serpent, and slowly started catching up to the Automata with a couple of lucky draws of the Monument deck with cards only giving the Automata 1 VPs.

It culminated in us both having 10 VPs each, with the Automa still having the lead through tiebreaker with a larger Gold pool than myself. However, one of it's VPs was tied to an automated Nightinggale artifact in it's tableau... Sure enough, I had enough resources to discard it, securing me the win of 10-9!

The early game of the Automata can really be brutal, and it seems quite important to know when to pass, how to influence the Automata's choice of Magic Items, and when do commit to force the Automata to discard it's animated artifacts to quell the gold generation. I feel this puts some neat pressure on the player to keep their head up and not only focus on their own game. :)
