I remember reading this review before I bought the game. The game is outstanding. This review is terrible. If the author was a reasonable person they would remove it because it's so blatantly misleading.

The author's big complaint is that there's no scarcity and this is multiplayer solitaire. That's 100% wrong. There is clear competition for the best spots. This increases as the game goes on as certain buildings are just better than others. In my games there the 'go first' spot is taken almost every turn and rightly so. Turn order matters and grabbing a choice location is key.

The author is also completely wrong about how buildings work. He claims that you get an extra agent at turn 5 (true) when there are likely 7 more buildings (false). Buildings can only be added once per turn barring some unusual card playing so there will almost never be 7 new buildings by turn 5. If the buildings aren't particularly interesting they may not even be built once per turn.

Maybe the author is playing this as a two player game. I haven't tried that and it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't very good. If you're playing with 3-5 players there is scarcity as long as you follow the rules.

'Monopoly with a thieves guild space'? I can't think of a less accurate comment about the game. Absolutely nonsensical.
