Taking cards costs weeks in addition to the movement cost. If you were far enough behind your opponents on the timeline (due to them taking a really long expedition or something like that), you could possibly end up taking all of the researcher cards in 4 consecutive turns, but you would still have to pay the time cost to take each card as shown in the corner of the card.
