Trajan IS great. :star::star::star:

May we all be as great as TRAJAN (or so the saying goes...)

I did not recognize the comments above about Castles of Burgundy playing too long, but then I realize that I have played this game mostly with two players. It is quite possible many players have soured on CoB because they played it with 4 players, which I have done twice I think and those sessions were indeed very long. Castles of Burgundy is probably best with two.
What are your experiences with Trajan and playing time? Does it have a feeling of overstaying its welcome with 4 players?

In Trajan, you can't do everything available, whereas the length of Burgundy allows for everything to be accomplished by last turn, leaving a lackluster last few turns. One less round for burgundy would do it much better in my book--speaking of 4 player games.
Trajan simply doesn't have the same problem because of the other options, and you can't fill up your grid, so-to-speak.
