Quick question:
1) Does the effect of filling a row with Maggots/Flies trigger every time the row is filled (I.e. if you kill off some maggots but then row is refilled)?

Have battled Maggoth twice now and lost pretty badly. Any strategy tips?Seems really hard!!

Cheers

1. Yes.

How many mages are in your game? What mages have you tried? What treasures do you have?

Thank you for the photos @Oxxo and @Coralouwho . I received a fake Azul board game too from ebay with many of the the same traits as yours:

- Over bleeding and poor print alignment on printed parts, box, and the manual.
- Missing logo from manual back page (dead giveaway #1)
- Punch cards with "front" on both sides (giveaway #2)
- Differently folded manual
- Loose tile packaging
- Blue tiles with large margins around white printing
- All text slightly fuzzy and low contrast due to scanning
- Some blue smudges visible on edges of front page of manual, as the underside of the manual was picked up by the scanner they used
- Poor quality blue plastic tray, like your fake one, I noticed the text is not embossed as sharply on the fake.

The colours didn't seem too off to me, but they were not consistent:
- Front cover was very slightly green
- Sides were not green
- Back was very blue

Hey just wondering if there's any pictures of the "back" of a factory tile? On my copy the front and back are the same.

Yes. An what's more, you know which advantage cards each player has, because on their backs they have the image of the terrain they correspond to.

For powers that say something like "play a card for free" or "play a card with up to X point value for free", can you play them from the meadow? It seems like you can but I wanted to be sure.

I had 2 mages, I had one mage keep the flies thinned, and the other just got big hits on Maggoth. I also got those breach IVs opened as soon as I could for hitting the boss.

I forget the spell but it's something like deal 3dmg and then if you discard a card you deal 2 to the nemesis. That spell made this a bit trivial for us. Wasn't the most efficient to kill 1 and 2 minions with 3 or more dmg but it let us kill them while still making progress on the nameless.

5p is not widely considered bad but some people don’t like it at that count. I like it at 5 personally.

I've played Wingspan 4p with experienced players, and when I learned the game at 3p, another player was learning, too. I didn't time the games but it didn't seem too long for the game.

On the other hand, newbies can't really be predicted. Any game with 3 newbies can take hours. You can't really predict what will throw a random person into AP.

I think the powercreep is real with the newer breach mages. Most older mages have only one unique card and it could help them a lot having a second copy of their unique card. My question is, which mages do you think it would be better to have 2 of their unique card instead of one?

These are referenced on the FAQ on the publisher's website: https://stonemaiergames.com/games/wingspan/rules/

These errors also should no longer be in any of the current printings.

in my experience, the game stalled after I placed my last cube, because i can't do much to raise my points, while the bot can accumulate resources for many other rounds without the pressure to place the rails.

In one of my games, I did have to take iron ore, go to Works, craft two steel bars, and lay track on a sunny day to end the game, all after my 16th ownership marker was placed. Like Rainer said, it’s definitely part of the strategy.

(I’ve started counting the station spaces at the beginning of the scenario, to determine a rough outline of how I will balance stations and track spaces.)
