I suppose an execption could be made. Some people might try to argue that all the DA cards with trash effects should've said "Reaction" on them (e.g. Fortress, Rats, Market Square, etc.)

Except when you trash a card everyone sees what it is. If you wanted to go down that path, it's a slippery slope. Why not on buy and on gain effects as well? Heck, why not on play?
