Opening discussion as to what is faster, easier to use, etc. to appease the players. Myself prefers option 1 but at least one person in my game group would prefer something else and I've seen the other discussions here about drafting.I also wanted to propose the Pass 2 option. A few games we tried Discard 2 but now I'm thinking Pass 2 may be quicker since the cards for the game were already dealt and the rest already put back in the box.
As I write this, maybe option 5 could work for newer players always feeling they get a bad deal and more experienced players could work around it.
1) Regular - play with the 8 cards dealt to you
2) Draft - Cards are dealt, then draft/pass all 8 cards
3) Discard 2 - players get 10 cards and discard 2
4) Pass 2 - players pass 2 cards
5) Open Draft - new player sees all dealt game cards and picks 8, then deals the other players the remaining cards.
